Nearby Arezzo is a strategic point for tourists who come to Tuscany.  The city centre is 4 km away. You must not miss the Piero della Francesca frescoes. The province of Arezzo has many other charming places to visit: Cortona, Anghiari, Lucignano, Poppi, The La Verna Sanctuary and other medieval towns are only a short drive away. Outside the province is Firenze (Florence). There are numerous places worth seeing around Firenze, including the Chianti area and Camaldoli. Not far is Siena, the city of the Palio (a traditional horse and rider race), its province known all over the world shows us Pienza, Montepulciano, San Gimignano and hot water springs… We recommend a visit to Umbria (a neighbouring region) with its towns of Perugia, Assisi, Gubbio and the romantic lago Trasimeno (lake). |
